The IIFA Awards 2008

Bangkok, Thailand, is still recovering from the extravaganza that is the IIFA (International Indian Film Awards), which concluded on Sunday.
The Bachchans - including Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek and Aishwarya - charmed audiences and fans alike. Abhishek and Ash, however, did not bag an award for Guru, which was nominated in the Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress categories, among others.
Ironically, Shah Rukh Khan, whose films won most of the awards - nine for Chak De! India including best actor and best film, and five for Om Shanti Om - was not present at the show.

What is indiamarks??

There is a lack of good quality information on India in the internet world....if there is good information out there, it's very well hidden and not easy to find. We at indiamarks are aiming to put an end to that search by creating a resource of useful guides, experiences and tips on anything India....and we're looking for someone to help them find the right information. That "someone" is many of us.

Wikipedia has managed to get users to create an entire online encyclopedia about practically everything. We at indiamarks believe in the same concept, that if people share their knowledge, expertise and contribute to creating good useful content online....we won't have to have to search the web and sort through a whole lot of irrelevant sites that show up in our search results, advertisements and spam in order to find what we need. And while there is useful information about a whole lot of stuff about different countries on the internet we found that there is no single resource for quality information on anything and everything India, hence indiamarks!

Why should you care?
You should care because indiamarks will educate you about India like no other single resource - it is a collection of experiences and advice from everyone who has lived or been to India. indiamarks will help you avoid going to 10 pages of irrelevant search results on Google and get to the right information right away.

Why should you contribute to indiamarks?
Almost everyone is an expert on something! A housewife may be an expert in the kitchen or have some great decorating tips or how to throw a party, a college student may know the hot spots and hang outs around their college or which is the latest cell phone or gadget to hit the Indian markets...whereas some may have a keen interest in the stock market, business, IT sector, politics or even travel and bollywood.

By contributing to indiamarks you can market this knowledge. Get visibility. Get acknowledged. Meet people with similar interests. Generate traffic to your gig (we're open to you linking to your site as long as it's tastefully done, relevant and not blatant spam). And most of all the feel good factor when you see just how many people have read, and benefited from your page.

If you have any questions comments or feedback you can e-mail us at team@indiamarks.com
